The open training session of the team took place in the sports and recreation complex “Sputnik” on Tuesday, Aaugust 18. Four athletes from the previous team's line-up were present — Anastasia Kupriyanova, Irina Rodkina, Oksana Pegova and Oksana Antonova.
As “Laguna-UOR” head coach Mikhail Kryukov informed PenzaNews agency, there is much to work on with the athletes.
“We have gathered the players to meet at each other and get in shape. This year we shall not have the training, as we used to. Very little time left,” the agency interlocutor said.
According to him, despite the sharp change in the composition of the team, as a mentor, he is still focused on solving the main problem — the team training and achieving goals.
“I hope people understand that now we have almost the brand new team. And we shall probably not be able to work on the issues as much as we did earlier,” Mikhail Kryukov said.
In turn, “Laguna-UOR” president Vitaly Antonov stressed that the team is able-bodied, and “if the financing does not fail,” the team will seek first place.
“Sports principle of this championship [of Russia] will be much more interesting than last year, when we took the first place far ahead,” he said.
It is planned that the first match of the national championship, “Laguna-UOR” will play with “Tyumen” club in Penza.
